Favignana, Sicily Italy

The Italian island of Favignana is the largest among the Egadi Islands. It is situated 7 km off the western coast of Sicily, nestled between Trapani and Marsala, and facing the Salitre Islands. In the past, Favignana was known as "Aegusa", a term that translates to "Butterfly", a name inspired by the island's shape. The island's current name, Favignana, is derived from "Favonio", a specific type of wind.
